How do I choose between selective and high-density racking?

Selective teardrop rack is the default for mixed SKUs needing direct access to every pallet. Pushback stores 2–6 pallets deep with LIFO rotation by SKU; pallet flow serves FIFO and dated stock; drive-in suits bulk inventory with few SKUs; cantilever supports long loads; carton flow serves case picking. We compare your SKU quantities, rotation needs and handling equipment before recommending a system.

What size pallet rack do I need?

For standard 48-inch-deep pallets, 42-inch-deep uprights are a common starting point; common beam lengths are 96 inches for two 40-inch-wide pallets, 108 inches, and 144 inches for three pallets. Rack height follows your clear height and forklift lift height. Measure the real pallets, including load overhang, before selecting dimensions; we check handling clearance and load capacity alongside the measurements.

Can you calculate my warehouse's pallet position count?

The count depends on clear height, aisle width, pallet dimensions and the forklift you use. Our free CAD layout gives the exact pallet position count for the proposed arrangement before you buy. It accounts for columns, doors and staging space, so the count reflects working storage rather than filling the entire floor with rack.

Who handles the permit side of the project?

Our team handles the permit side for you.

Do you install pallet rack?

Yes. We handle design, supply and installation using experienced installation crews we schedule and manage. The agreed layout sets the work sequence; frames are anchored to the floor, beams and decking are fitted, and load plaques identify the capacities before storage begins.

Choosing Between Rack Types

Four things decide the answer: how many SKUs you carry, how many pallets you hold of each one, how fast product turns, and how much height the building gives you.

Many SKUs with a pallet or two each point to selective pallet rack. Several pallets of the same item favor pushback. Date-driven rotation calls for pallet flow. Large volumes of a few items in a tight footprint suit drive-in. Long material needs cantilever, and case picking needs carton flow.
